The Stanley Road project stands out as a unique undertaking for Craft Built Homes. Located in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs, this ornate period home required a careful balance of restoring its original charm while incorporating modern improvements.
Our involvement began during the design phase, where we worked closely with the clients and designers, refining quotes and ensuring the project stayed within budget while meeting their design aspirations.
The project involved demolishing outdated extensions at the rear and stripping back parts of the original front rooms to straighten walls, level floors, and waterproof new wet areas. The backyard was also reconfigured by removing a shed and excess soil through tight alley access to create a more functional space.
Key features of the renovation include the restoration of original period details in the front rooms and the creation of luxurious, modern bathrooms and new living spaces in the back extension.
The home now boasts custom joinery with marble and limestone benchtops, full-height natural stone bathroom tiles, wide board engineered flooring, a servery with bifold windows for indoor/outdoor living, a gas log fireplace with a stone mantle, and a bright, open kitchen and living area.
This project is a testament to the versatility of the Craft Built Homes team, combining high-quality craftsmanship with detailed finishes to breathe new life into this beautiful period home.
